Our
Horses
HALTER
would not be possible without the wonderful horses used in our
therapy program. Below you'll find a short bio for each of our equine therapists!
All of our horses have sponsors this year, except for Shadow, George, Rascal Flatts & Cookie. If you would like to sponsor one of these horses, please contact Mike and let him know or click on the PayPal donation button below and let us know which horse you would like to sponsor. Thanks!

Red
Tag
Special thanks
to Teresa Fowler, Red Tag's Sponsor!
Red Tag knows
his job inside and out as the longest standing member of the H.A.L.T.E.R.
program. Being blind in one eye doesn’t hold this guy back.
Red Tag is very capable of taking good care of each of his riders.
He works very well with our more independent participants. Red
Tag is also well known for being skilled in checking pockets for
any leftover treats… |

Special thanks
to Bob Breitweiser, Drummer's Sponsor!
Drummer’s
“Can Do” attitude helps his riders to quickly build
confidence in their horse skills. He is effortless when it comes
to connecting with the people he works with. Drummer is a very
kind and loyal soul and is quite a big fan of attention. He is
very smooth to ride and enjoys following people around. |

Matte
Special thanks
to Kara Dowling, Matte's Sponsor!
Matte is
one of the newest addition to the H.A.L.T.E.R. team. He is a beautiful
sorrel quarter horse. He too was a hunter jumper pony. His gaits
are smooth and easy to ride and is helping riders learn to walk,
trot and canter. |

George
George is
a retired hunter pony with a lot of personality. He is the youngest
member of the group and has had quite a bit of training before
joining the H.A.L.T.E.R. team. George loves people and is usually
the first one to meet you when its time to bring the horses in.
He is very spoiled and loves being scratched on his withers and
behind his ears. |

Rascal
Flatts
Special thanks
to the Parks Family, generously sponsoring Rascal Flatts!
Rascal Flatt comes to HALTER from Tryon, SC.
He is a ten year old Chestnut Welsh Pony. He is 13 hands tall and used to be a little jumper Pony for the child of his previous owner.
When the child grew too big for the pony, Rascal came to us. He is the perfect size for some of our smaller riders and they really love to ride him. He has a wonderful disposition for our program and is fitting right in. |

Taz
Special thanks
to Kara Dowling, Taz's Sponsor!
Taz is an
American Quarter Horse. He is 17 years old. His owner, Mike Ennis,
was Marilyn's trainer and taught her to ride. Several years ago,
Mike was looking for a place to board his horse so he talked to
Marilyn and we worked things out and Taz came to live on our farm
in Pauline. Last summer Mike had a heart attack and passed away
and his wife after much thought and many prayers ask if HALTER
would be interested. In February, Taz came into the HALTER program
and has done a wonderful job. I know as Mike looks down from above,
he has a smile on his face knowing that his horse is helping make
so many children with special needs learn to ride. |
